DCAT - Clerk to Governors - Chichester area
DCAT are seeking a Clerk to Governors who will provide high level governance advice, support and specific administrative assistance to two DCAT local governing bodies of academies in the Chichester district.
This will involve arranging meetings, setting and communicating agendas with consultation with the Chair of the Board, taking minutes, keeping appropriate and accurate records and advising the local governing bodies on local and national developments that will impact on their work. You should have appropriate administrative experience and experience of minute-taking is desirable. Good ICT, excellent communication skills and a pro-active attitude with the ability to work with minimal supervision is required. The ability to travel to academies based in central Chichester and Westhampnett area is essential.
Training for new Clerks will be provided as well as opportunities to network with other clerks both within the Trust and the wider governance community. Flexibility in terms of working hours is required with approximately six full governing body meetings per year per academy, usually late afternoon/early evening and ad-hoc clerking of working groups and panels, as required.
The number of hours will vary. The expected number of hours will usually be 80+ hours per year per academy. There are currently two schools in the service. Please note that many of the hours are late afternoon or early evening and therefore candidates should have good availability outside of normal 9 to 5 working hours.
Please note that due to the nature of this post, the role is paid on a casual hours worked basis.
The hourly pay is £12.00 - £12.72 per hour and includes the statutory entitlement to holiday allowance. The role is paid on the East Sussex Single Status Grade 7.
